Caliper Timepieces harken back to the era of precision instrumentation of the mid 20th Century.
An era when the inner mechanics of our most important tools and devices were crafted for accuracy, dependability and longevity.
Excellence in Craftsmanship and Design
Caliper Timepieces successfully launched their first watch, the VIEW on Kickstarter in March 2016.
The campaign was a huge success raising over 250% of the initial goal.
Production is now complete and you can order yours today.
Caliper Timepieces are a tribute to all that came before the planned obsolescence of the consumer age.
They don't just mark time - they express values.
The Caliper View
A Measure of Sophistication
The Caliper View is a precision-crafted mechanical timepiece with a self-winding movement that highlights the intricate inner details through glass surfaces on both the front and back.
The Caliper View features a high quality case, milled from surgical-grade, 316L steel, and sapphire scratch-resistant glass on the front and back.
The movement is the Japanese-made Miyota 82S0.
It is purely mechanical, requires no battery and will wind automatically when worn (it can also be wound conventionally).
The View’s glass face is perhaps its most distinctive design feature, highlighting the movement from the front and back.

EXCELLENCE IN CRAFTSMANSHIP AND DESIGN
Caliper Timepieces harken back to the era of precision instrumentation - when the inner mechanics of our most important tools and devices were crafted for accuracy, dependability and longevity. They honour the era that preceded computers. In the mid-20th century, industrial designers used precision instruments to fuse beauty with functionality – on their desks and drafting tables, their slide-rules, scales and balances had an aesthetic that reflected the times.
Caliper Timepieces are a tribute to all that came before the planned obsolescence of the consumer age. They don't just mark time - they express values.

The Slide rule index is at 12 – at the top of the dial. This is the conventional ‘starting point’ on a watch dial.
There are no conversion factors on the dial. This reduces clutter and lets you focus on the setting that you have selected. We have a large number of conversion factors on the back of the case that you can easily refer to, and memorize over time!
Is this just a historic curiosity? Why would you want to use a slide rule? And why would you want one on your watch?
Here’s why: a slide rule is faster than a calculator when you need to multiply or divide many numbers by the same factor. This would be the case for units conversion or currency conversion. Set a slide rule to a particular factor, and you can read back and forth across the dial to get results for any value almost instantly. Doesn’t that sound like something useful to have on your wrist?
