Our next project will include a circular slide rule in the design of the watch. Using a slide rule is a bit of a lost art but with a bit of practice, it can be a useful every-day tool. With a bit of practice, it becomes easy to use.
You may be wondering what we mean by calibration. A mechanical watch relies on a very fine spring and a balance wheel that swings back and forth to control its rate. This mechanism can be adjusted to speed up or slow down the watch.
The Caliper View is inspired by technology from the fifties and sixties and yet it does not look anything like a watch from that time. It's a design that could only exist now. Our design reaches back for inspiration in order to create something new.
